"Whatever scientific and technological discoveries are made, we shouldn’t count on them to find solutions to the problems facing humanity. And even the most exceptional researchers will fail to find the meaning of their life if they are content to explore matter. Why? Because the scope of their research remains outside themselves, like their apparatus, their laboratories and the subjects they study.
That is why you’ll see scientists who’ve made fantastic discoveries and even received the Nobel Prize lose all sense of inner direction. If they had known the philosophy of the initiates and applied their methods, they would also have received inner strength and enlightenment from their discoveries. It’s such a pity they didn’t! What sense is there in making discoveries that make life easy for others, if you remain plunged in darkness and disarray yourself?"Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
