Negative states - we can draw energy from them
"Whenever you experience a period of sadness or discouragement, do not think it is there to stay and nothing can be done about it. Such a state will not last, and already happiness is getting ready to visit you. But in the meantime, so as not to endure this state passively, tell yourself it is possible to make use of it for your inner work. Suffering is like the compost, even the manure, you place around flowers and shrubs to make them more vigorous and more beautiful. Yes, here we have yet another analogy between the psychic plane and the physical plane. And if you study how your psyche reacts to this or that prompting from your inner or outer world, you will see that it is possible to draw energy even from your negative states.
What humans lack is knowledge of the subtleties of the inner life. There is a whole laboratory inside us, enabling us to research which elements allow us to have the right attitudes. It is impossible to just describe these elements theoretically; we must each find them for ourselves, by observing how the events of our daily life affect us."Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
